Lorine Chia talks about her music, her hidden talents, and her celebrity crush!
Yesterday, I got a chance to talk to one of Ohio's fresh new faces, Lorine Chia! She's really chill and laid back, it felt like I was talking to a friend of mine! I really like her new single Crazy Things! Check out the article!
When did you first start singing?
“I started singing when I was 6. I mean ive been singing pretty much
all my life like in church choirs and school. But I would say I really got into
music when I was like 15 or 16. ”
What are your top 3 songs of all time?
“My top 3 would have to be your alright, crazy things, babbling
idiot”
Are there any songs you want to cover or do a remix to?
"I haven't really thought
about that. I remember I did a cover for a corine bailey ray song another
rainey day. I always sing hometown glory by adele. But other then that no I
haven't really thought about it much.
Who else in your family sings?
“My Dad. He sings and plays the guitar. That’s probably who I got it
from”
Who are your musical inspirations?
“James blake, mr.hudson, chris martin from cold play, amy winehouse,
and kid cudi. Real big inspirations”
What kind of music do you listen to today?
I don’t know why but ive been listening to a lot of Funky, disco
electro type. I listen to this duo called break bot a lot. I listen to a lil
bit of hip hop and rap.
What embarrassing songs might I find on your MP3 player?
“Ya know, no I don’t have any of those. I embrace every single song
I like; I really do. I used to like that Friday song. I actually liked it. That was one song I was
probably embarrassed about telling people about. But that’s really it.
Where would you most like to perform?
“ I haven't had a lot of performances yet, but my favorite one so
far was Columbus
Who would you most like to open for?
“I think it would be tight to open up for Kendrick, if that’s
possible. Or kid Cudi, that would be so cool.
If you weren't singing, what would you be doing?
“Id probably be in school, majoring in psychology, tryna be a
psychologist”
Do you play any instruments?
“I play the guitar and im learning how to play the keys and I used to
play the violin. Ill have to pick that back up."
Any celebrity crushes?
“Im in love with drake right now; I don’t know why. I always think,
ya know im gonna make it and hes probably gonna see me and we’ll propably get
together. Kendrick is another one. Hes so short but hes a beautiful person. Hes
amazing”
What hidden talents do you have?
“I don’t know. I can cook. I do a lot of things. I braid hair. Im pretty
good at that.”
What inspires you to write your music?
“the beat and what ever im feeling at the moment. Ill listen to a
beat and just start thinking of something like an event in my life or just
random thoughts and then just start writing. “

When is your next project?
“I released an album already last
thanksgiving. Its on my website lorinechia.com, livemixtapes.com. I have a
remastered project coming out soon. I have a lot of unheard new songs on it and
a couple of new features that I have on there.
